Seniority date 27 FEB 1999 - Mostly all mounted curbside delivery here in Clarksville with very few dismounts/walking. The T-6 assignment I have has no park and loops. There are no satchels on any routes at my station. Some routes don't even have arrow keys including two routes on my swing. A few isolated dismounted business and maybe a few apartments/mobile home parks (cluster boxes) and that's it the rest is all mounted. Also, there are no collections or mailrooms here. Looking to transfer somewhere in the Central Valley between Stockton and Turlock along the I5 corridor (Tracy,Manteca,Modesto,Ceres,Turlock). I will also seriously consider offices in Livermore, Antioch, Brentwood or Oakley. Low cost of living in Clarksville with no state income tax and low property tax. Lower sales tax and no sales tax on groceries in nearby Kentucky. In fact, the Walmart in Kentucky (for me) is closer than the one in Clarksville. Vehicle registration is also cheap here, it's $56.50 for autos here in Montgomery County no matter what you drive, unlike Cali$ornia where they punish you for the value of your vehicle. Even gas is 30-50 cents less here than the rest of the country!!!

Would you consider Las Vegas, NV., I'm a T-6 here and lots of people are tranferring from California to Vegas. You might find it easier to tranfer to Cal once you're here or maybe we can find someone so we can do a 3-way...
I just read your post, I hadn't visited the site since I submitted my request. I didn't get an e-mail message notifying me that you posted. Las Vegas is very tempting but I'm not ready to give up on California just yet. I am definately game for a 3 way. My home phone is 931-648-8308 and my mobile is 931-216-4778. My email is suflex@bellsouth.net
This is Sharon in Phx. Did you leave me a message on my cell phone yesterday? (7/01/08) I thought you wanted to go to Calif, your friend is in Chandler? Phx has 19 stations. I am in the north Valley 101 and Cave Creek Rd. We have 32 city routes 3 RR and 1 contract route. Delivery is NDCBU's for residential, some bus's, apts& condo's very little walking, across the curb. No sorry, but perhaps we can do a three way if we find someone in the Central Valley that wants Florida. I am currently on eReassign and I will take whichever comes first. I have talked to two carriers that have posted in this forum who say that they won't be ready to swap for another 18 - 24 months. I have no desire to wait that long.

Much easier for you to transfer to Central Valley from Long Beach, than anywhere in TN. My seniority date is 7/89. You also can call me 562-743-3235 Doug

I don't see anybody (seriously) wanting out of the Central Valley to go anywhere. If somebody from the Central Valley wants to go to Long Beach then we can do a three way.

Friend becareful with the re-assign proccess. I have a brother and many friends working in those post offices you want to go to. They are saying there is no overtime and that they are all undertime. Some stations are giving them the option of using Annual leave to go home early. These are regulars and old timers that used to be overtime hogs. In this environment you might be coming in as a PTF. They said they use less than 4hrs and rotate days on and off of PTFs to make it fair. I dont want to scare you but check out your station before you transfer. I dont know your situation but my wife stays home with the kids so we couldnt survive on my working four hours every other day for a few years. Thats why I'm trying to transfer via mutual exchange. By the way i worked ten years in the area you want to go to. Good luck and make your choice an informed one.
Well, all the more reason to do a Mutual Transfer to a safer area within the STATE that you are wanting to be in. THEN transfer within the state there after !

yea, E-Reassign is alittle risky....I want a Mutual Exchange to have some guarantee...and wish people would consider living outside the town they want to work in.......it's frustrating to get them close to where they want and they say no cuz of cost of living...I know that can be the case, as I don't live in the city I work in....don't worry Doug, we'll work something out.....

Obviously its very tough finding someone wanting to transfer from the area you want that wants to come to your area. I'm am trying to move too a fairly large area in California and not a particular city. If I can't get that area I'm not going to settle for something 300+ miles away, go through all the headache of moving and then wish and hope I can do it all again soon if/when I get the opportunity to get the area that I wanted originally which may never happen. Then I'd be stuck a world away from where I want to be. I may as well just stay where I am, I'm moving for personal/family reasons, not STATE reasons.
