I'm a regular carrier (seniority date 08/04) in Pinellas Park FL. I do have a couple questions regarding the state taxes in Kentucky. What are the taxes like for personal property as far as yearly taxes on vehicles and state income taxes on our base salary,? Looking to relocate to either Kentucky or Tennessee and Boyle County looks like a nice area.

State income tax is around $100 per pay period for me. I'm topped out as a letter carrier. Property tax rate in Lincoln County is 1.0682 per $100K. Not sure about Boyle but I'd guess it's about the same.

I couldn't find out how they figure personal property taxes like cars/boats etc. I'd say for example a 30K vehicle will cost around $200 per year.

Thanks for the info on the state. I'm curious about your office. Do you have any open routes? My current route is four 2-block loops and the rest is mounted and dismounts all residential. With a 2004 seniority where would that put me in your office? I'm a little higher than half in my office but we also have a few people retiring soon.

It's a really nice office with awesome people. I'm 4th in seniority out of 14 people. 1&2 in seniority can retire in 4 years and the 5th can retire now. The number 2 guy is trying to become a supervisor and could be gone anytime. I think your seniority would make you #6. The top four routes are all mounted. 5,6&7 are a mix of both. It wouldn't take long to be all mounted if that's what you prefer. All the routes are nice routes. We only have one route that's all walking. We do have a route that just came open and it hasn't been posted yet. It's a easy route and you would hAve the seniority to get if you wanted it. Call me if you want my number is 606-669-2295. I'm on vacation now here in Parrish, Fl with some family

Did you have a specific timeline you need to meet? I have two older daughters getting married this year and a house to sell before I can move.
